Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Putney Movers
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions and commitments of Putney Movers to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Putney Movers is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place anywhere in our business or in any of our supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Putney Movers operates a strict zero-tolerance policy to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude, and human trafficking. We will not knowingly conduct business with any organisation or individual involved in, or associated with, such practices. This commitment applies to our employees, contractors, agency workers, and all third parties with whom we engage.
All staff are expected to uphold this policy and to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects our commitment to human rights, fairness, and respect in the workplace and throughout our supply chains. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or contract, where appropriate.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage facilities, uniforms, and related services that support our moving and relocation activities. We aim to work only with suppliers who share our values and who demonstrate a clear commitment to preventing modern slavery.
We require our key suppliers and contractors to adhere to standards that prohibit modern slavery and human trafficking. These standards form part of our supplier selection and ongoing relationship management. Where proportionate and risk-based, Putney Movers may conduct audits or request evidence from suppliers to confirm their compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking requirements. This may include reviewing policies, training materials, and information on workforce practices.
If concerns are identified through audits, questionnaires, or other forms of due diligence, we will work with the relevant supplier to address and resolve issues. Where a supplier fails to demonstrate adequate remedial action or commitment, we reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate the business relationship.
Employee Awareness, Training, and Responsibilities
We are committed to raising awareness among our employees about the risks and signs of modern slavery in our sector and supply chains. Appropriate training and guidance are provided so that staff understand how to identify potential issues and what steps to take if they suspect wrongdoing.
Managers are responsible for promoting a culture of openness and for ensuring that the zero-tolerance policy is communicated and understood within their teams. All employees are expected to report any concerns promptly and to cooperate fully in any investigations.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Putney Movers encourages anyone who has concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains to report them as soon as possible. Concerns can be raised to line managers, designated senior management, or through established internal reporting mechanisms. Reports may be made in confidence, and, where requested and feasible, anonymously.
We will investigate all reports of suspected modern slavery promptly and thoroughly. No employee or worker will suffer any form of retaliation, victimisation, or disadvantage for raising a concern in good faith. Any substantiated case of modern slavery will lead to appropriate remedial and disciplinary actions and, where necessary, referral to the relevant authorities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Putney Movers recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous vigilance and improvement. We are committed to regularly reviewing our policies, procedures, and risk assessments to strengthen our approach and to respond effectively to evolving risks in our sector and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis by senior management to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with relevant legislation and best practice. The annual review will consider feedback from employees, outcomes of supplier engagements and audits, and any incidents or concerns reported during the year.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Putney Movers, who take overall responsibility for ensuring its implementation and effectiveness throughout the organisation.
